These terms cover GRID COMMAND, the off-grid power system documentation app at minigridmap.com, operated by Brent Norris, 18-1350 Volcano Road 303, Mountain View, HI 96771, United States.

What the app is

GRID COMMAND is a record of an off-grid electrical system: components, wiring runs, appliance loads, maintenance and documents. It runs in your browser and stores your data on your own device.

It is a documentation tool, not an engineering authority. It does not monitor your equipment, it does not read live telemetry, and it does not certify that any installation is safe or compliant. Figures it shows, including runtime estimates and compatibility checks, are calculated from what you entered and are for your own planning. Electrical work is dangerous and is governed by codes that vary by jurisdiction. Nothing here replaces a qualified electrician or an inspection.

Your data

Your system data stays in your browser on the device you use it on.
You can export all of it, at any time, as a single .zip file. That is free and always will be.
If you subscribe, a copy of that same .zip is also stored off your device so you can restore it.
You own your data. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to train anything.

The free tier

The app is free to use, with no account. Free use includes every documentation feature and manual export. We do not intend to move existing free features behind the paywall.

Subscriptions

A subscription costs $7.00 per month or $65.00 per year, in US dollars, per system tracked.
It adds off-device backup and restore, and lets one subscription cover several systems.
Billing recurs automatically until you cancel. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
You can cancel at any time from the billing portal inside the app. Cancelling stops future charges and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
If a price changes, existing subscribers keep their price until their next renewal, and we will tell you before that renewal.

Refunds

If the paid features do not work for you, email within 30 days of a charge and we will refund it in full, no argument. After 30 days, cancel and you will not be charged again. Annual subscriptions cancelled part way through are refundable pro rata on request within the first 30 days.

Availability

The app is designed to keep working with no connection, and it does. Off-device backup needs the internet and our servers, and we do not promise either is available at any particular moment. We give no uptime guarantee. Keep your own exported copy: it is one click and it costs nothing.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to break the law, to store anything you do not have the right to store, or to attack or overload the service. We may suspend an account that does. We may also decline or end service for any lawful reason, and if we end it without cause we will refund the unused portion.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost data, lost power, equipment damage or lost income. If your jurisdiction does not allow that limitation, it applies as far as it can.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes to price or to what a subscription includes will be sent to subscribers before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii, United States.
